Allene-the-Marsh

Allene-the-Marsh is a common French, located in the department of the Northern and the area Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Its inhabitants is called the Garden ones.

Geography

History

Etymology: Allene-the-marsh would come from Al (edge) and LEN (river), Allene-the-Marsh is bordered by the Deûle. WITH THE VETUM: (Alder plantation) planted place of alders.

At the 13th century, Allene-the-Marsh is a vault or dependence of Annoeullin whose furnace bridge belongs to the Saint Martin's day abbey of Tournai until the Revolution.

Hugues de Neuville, lord of Allenes was killed in 1415 with the battle of Azincourt.

Under the Spaniards in 1.566: Invasion of Gueux. The Allene inhabitants help Seclinois to drive out them.

In 1642, the Duke of Milleray (France) takes Based the, cabin with the abbey of Loos, Allennes devastation and burns the large Allene farm.

In 1741, Allennes obtains a portion of the Marshes of Annoeullin.

In 1777, distribution of the domestic portions.

In 1792, each inhabitant is declared free occupying.
