The All People' S Congress (APC) is a political party sierra-léonais.

History

It was founded in 1960 by Siaka Stevens, an union leader.

The APC gains the elections member of Parliament of 1971 and 1973.

In 1978, the APC, with always at its head Siaka Stevens, founds a mode with sole party in Sierra Leone. With party of this moment there, the APC is the only legal party.

In November 1985, Siaka Stevens resigns following the instability of the country, unemployment rate is high and the country is at the edge of the bankruptcy whereas the low diamond trade illegal full sound. The APC names Joseph Saidu Momoh as substitute of Siaka Stevens.

With the coup d'etat of the army, the April 29th 1991, Joseph Saidu Momoh and the APC are reversed.

At the end of the Civil war of Sierra Leone, the APC, with at its head Ernest Bai Koroma, collects 22,35% of the voices. But they lose the presidential elections of the May 14th 2002 vis-a-vis the current president Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, of the Parti the people of Sierra Leone (PPSL).
