All Along
All Along (born the April 17th 1979; died the February 23rd 2005) was a mare thorough-bred champion of horse-race. Running especially in Europe it was one of the best fillies at the end of the XXe century.
Raised with the the United States, girl of Targowice and Angujita by Old Manor , it was the property of Daniel Wildenstein (1917-2001), well-known French as merchant of works of art and owner of horses to many successes.
All Along was sent in France to be trained by Patrick-Louis Biancone there. At two years, it ran only once and gained. The following year saw it running to France, where it gains the Prix Vermilion, in England and with the Japan, where it is classified second of the Japan Cup.
Taken along by the jockey, Walter Swinburn, All Along gain in 1983 the Prix of the Triumphal arch. It is then sent to Toronto, with the Canada where it gains the Rothmans International with the Woodbine Racetrack. Two weeks later, it connects by a victory in the Turf Classic of Aqueduct Racetrack de Jamaica (New York) by 8 lengths three quarters in advance, before triumphing in the Washington D.C. International with Laurel (Maryland). Four consecutive victories against the best American horses, the whole (and it is remarkable) in only 41 days. First horse to gain continuation the three prestigious races North-American, bringing back a million dollars to its owner, it becomes the very first thorough-bred based abroad with being elected horse of the year, in 1983. It accepted the equivalent title in France.
In 1984, it ran only four races and completes its career by a third place in the Prix of the Triumphal arch, before being withdrawn like brood mare with the Three Chimneys Farm, in Midway in the Kentucky, the breeding which had seen being born Seattle Slew, the winner of the Triple crown American, and where now Smarty Jones is. It had accumulated 3.018.420 $ of profits and had obtained a Rating of 135 at Timeform.
