Aljamiado

The aljamiado الخميادو ( aljamía or the Spanish alyamía in ) comes from Arabic Al' adjamiyya العجميّه (words from abroad) and indicates the fact of writing with the Arabic alphabet the Romance language spoken by the Andalous during all the late time about Year-Andalus.

Even if the language of the administration were then the Arab , the Latin forever ceased being practiced; this Romance language, spoken in grounds not yet reconquered by the Castille or the Aragon, was written then with Arab characters, because of great influence of written Arabic and the lapse of memory of the Latin characters.

We have a rather significant number of writings carried out with this writing which retranscribe the Romance language of all Al-Andalus. Among these writings, are detached in particular the importance from the Diwan S (collections of poems).
