Alison Krauss

Alison Krauss , born on July 23rd, 1971 with Decatur, Illinois, (the United States)) is a Chanteuse and Violoniste of Bluegrass and Country.

Biography

Alison Krauss begins the Violon as of the five years age and to take courses of classical music. It is quickly attracted by the country music and bluegrass. As of eight years, it takes part in contests of young talents. Two years later, it founds its own group. In 1983, it gains at 12 years contest of Fiddle Illinois State Fiddle Championship

It takes part in the disc of her brother Viktor, Different Strokes , in 1985, its first recording. It leaves its first proper disc in 1987, Too Late To Cry . It becomes known in Europe following its participation in the original soundtrack of the film O' Brother of the Frères Coen.

Since 1989, she plays accompanied by her group Union Station , composed of daN Tyminski (Guitare, song), Ron Block (Banjo, guitar, song), Jerry Douglas (Dobro) and Barry Bales (low, song).

She is the female artist having received the most Grammy Award S (20 until now).
