Published for the first time in 1905, Aline is the first novel of Charles Ferdinand Ramuz.

Aline, raised by her mother under modest conditions is allured by the son of a country rich person of the village. She saw a true story of love filled up of passion, whereas Julien, only seeks to him to satisfy his instinct. Given up whereas it is pregnant, Aline becomes the loophole of her own child and seeks an ultimate loophole with her destiny by death.
