Aligarh

Aligarh (in Hindi: अलीगढ़) is a city of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Aligarh has a population of a half million inhabitants. She is especially known for her university. The city is located at approximately 160 km of New Delhi.

The city was originally a fort at the 12th century, and was known under the name of Koil. The name was changed for Aligarh into 1776 with the construction of important extremely at this place.
