Alida Valli
Alida Maria Laura von Altenburger known under the name of Alida Valli (born the May 31st 1921 with Pola, city of the area of Istrie, Italian at the time of its Croatian birth and today ( Pula ) and deceased the April 22nd 2006 with Rome in Italy), is an actress Italy.
It is the girl of an Austrian journalist .
Biography
It enters in 1934 to the Centro sperimentale di Cinematografia (experimental Center of the cinema) of Rome and begins, at thirteen years thus, in the Hat with three points of Mario Camerini. The beginning of its career proceeds in front of the cameras of the large Italian realizers of the time, Mario Camerini and Goffredo Alessandrini of course (period of the white Téléphones obliges), but also Mario Bonnard, max Neufeld, Mario Mattoli, Carmine Braided and Mario Soldati. It is besides the latter which will enable him to become a high-speed motorboat in Italy, in 1942, with the Marriage of midnight (Piccolo mondo antico) where it will be able to make watch of a not very ordinary quality of dramatic play and which will be worth a price with the to him Mostra of Venice. It is in 1947 that it will try its chance with the the United States where it will play only in four films of which the Lawsuit Paradine of Hitchcock, and the Third Man of Carol Reed. In 1951, it is the return in Italy and it will work with Italian or French realizers: it will be primarily, for the first, again Mario Soldati, Gianni Franciolini, and especially two the “large ones” which are Luchino Visconti which entrusts the main role of to him Senso in 1954, and Michelangelo Antonioni which makes it play in the Cry in 1957; the French realizers will be inter alia Yves Allégret, Henri Decoin, Roger Vadim, Rene Clément, Yves Robert, Georges Franju, Jacques Deray, Claude Chabrol.
After 1963, it will be done rarer on the screens, at a rate of a film per annum on average, and certain years without. However let us note its big roles in Oedipus king (Edipo Re) of Pier Paolo Pasolini in 1967, in the Strategy of the spider ( Strategia LED ragno ) of Bernardo Bertolucci in 1970, in the Antichrist (Anticristo) of Alberto de Martino in 1974 and in 1900 of Bernardo Bertolucci in 1976.
Photogénique and very beautiful, equipped with a smile enchanter and marvellous slightly buckled blue eyes of sadness and mystery, Alida Valli incarnated the charm and the beauty of the Italian actress in all her splendeur.
