Alicia Bárcena Ibarra

Alicia Bárcena Ibarra (born the March 5th 1952) is a Mexican diplomat . General secretary associated with management of the United Nations since the January 3rd 2007.

Biography

It was Directrice Cabinet of the General secretary of the United Nations and member of the Board of trustees ( SMG - Senior Management Group ) of May 1st 2006 with the December 31st 2006.

Holder of a Control of Public administration of the University Harvard, it taught in Botanique, Ethnobotanique and ecology.

Until 1995, it was Directrice and the Founder of the Conseil of the Earth to the Costa Rica, a ONG which follows agreements signed at the time of the Sommet of the Earth 1992 (Conference of the United Nations on the environment and the development - CNUED) in 1992 to Rio de Janeiro to the Brésil.

It was assistant also Executive secretary of the Economic commission for the Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPALC), Head of the Division of the environment and the human settlements of the CEPALC and Coordonnatrice of the Programme of the United Nations for the environment (PNUE) like Conseillère of the Programme of the United Nations for the development (UNDP).
