Ali Zayn Al-Abidin

`Ali Zayn Al `Âbidîn (abū muḥammad `alīy Ben Al-ḥasan zayn Al `ābidīn, rear RTL أبومحمدعليبنالحسينزينالعابدين) (`ābidīn, rear RTL عابدين, ornament of the believers ) is sometimes called have-Sajâd (have-sajād, rear RTL السجاد, prostrate the ). It was born in 658 with Médine, his mother is Shahr Banû (Persan: RTL F شهربانو bānū, lady of the city ) one of the girls of the last emperor Sassanide of Persia Yazdgard III. His/her father is Husayn and his/her grandfather is `Ali. He became the fourth Imâm Chiite in 680 after the martyr of his father to the battle of Kerbela. He died in 713.

He married Fatima girl of Hassan, his German cousin.

History

With the battle of Karbala, he was the only survivor of the children of Husayn. When one brought cranium of Husayn to the caliph Omeyyade Yazîd Ier this one was frightened. He struck of a rod the mouth of Husayn and known as: “We would have been satisfied with the tender of the inhabitants of Iraq without this murder”. A spectator present says to him: “Draws aside this rod of this mouth which the Prophet has many kissed time”. Then irritated Yazîd was turned over towards `Ali Zayn and, said to him: “Wire of Husayn, your father broke the family ties and therefore God did to him what you saw. Isn't this God Him even Which made die your father? This is not God Who punished it to be himself rebelled against the Commander of the Believers?”. With what Ali Zayn Al-Abidin retorted: “Not tyrant! Do not deform the Koranic Verses. Do not change their significance! In His Infinite Wisdom, God gives to each one time and the occasions to act in good or evil, with justice or as oppressor. The Divine Punishment always reaches the tyrants, early or late! Doesn't Holy Coran tell the tribulations of the Prophets, who suffered thousand evils on behalf of the people to which they had been sent?”

Then, Yazîd ordered to treat Ali Zayn Al-Abidin with regards. The noise of the massacre of the family members of the Prophet by the army of Yazîd developing in the capital, and this one fearing a sling, it announced its disavowal of the events publicly and ordered that the prisoners are escorted with Médine, that they had left six months earlier, at the sides of Husayn.

In Médine, Ali Zayn Al-Abidin remained with the variation of the political intrigues, having the consecrated life with the religion, Moslem exemplary spending much time in prayer what was worth its nickname to him have-Sajâd .

Its succession will bring the first division in the Chiisme. The majority, the Duodécimains, thought that its successor legitimates was Muhammad Al-Bâqir, but a minority, the Zaydites, thought that it was to be different the wire of `Ali Zayn Al `Âbidîn, Zayd Ben `Alî.

He died in Médine into 713. He is buried in Médine with the Al-Bâqi cemetery.
