Ali Sayf Al-Dawla
Ali Sayf Al-Dawla (947 - 967) was an emir Hamdanides.
Biography
Ali seizes the Syria of north and of Alep in 944 thanks to the troops and with supports financial of his/her brother Hassan Nâsir Al-Dawla. It provided the foundations of a State syro-mésopotamien which will quickly become independent of the authorities based with Mosul and Baghdad. It is alone which it resisted the Byzantine , it led its soldiers to the combat according to old Arab military tactic. It launches of multiple raid in Byzantine territory, and its kingdom quickly becomes prosperous. Man of culture, it protects the well-read men like the poets Abu Firas, Al-Mutanabbi and the philosopher Al-Farabi.He dies into 967 at the 51 years age.
