Ali Brahimi

Ali Brahimi is a Politician Algérie N, member of RCD, resulting from the generation of the actors of the Berber Printemps of 1980.

Born in an revolutionary family in 1957 from the mount Lalla-Khadîdja (Djurdjura) in the mixed ex-commune of Me chedallah in Kabylie. His/her father, man of the maquis, had then given him the same first name, unquestionable not to survive the “national liberation war”.

It will successfully follow its studies until obtaining sound Baccalauréat, then joined the Université of Algiers for a training in right. During the the Sixties/70, Algeria knows a quasi-total closing of the political field as well as a total refusal on the identity questions, the language, the culture and all the identity Amazigh (Berber). With a group of student they carried out the combat for freedoms democratic and linguistic, until March 1980 where it is stopped with 23 comrades and envoy before the Court of state security for attempt at inversion of the government and attack to the state security.

After the advent of the Multi-party system, it joined the FFS of which he becomes member of the direction and is presented to the first legislative election known as pluri-democratic in Algeria. He is elected appointed with a broad advance on his opponent, the candidate of RCD, but the elections are cancelled.

During the period of terrorism, he was opposed to the position of his party and known as in favor of the government of the time: “ to arm itself to defend oneself is a self-defense ”, which will displease with the direction and with Hocine Has Ahmed. It will await the national congress amongst other things to present its resignation of the party in company of a group of comrades with Said Khelil, general secretary of the party at the time.

Ali Brahimi tried later, with his comrade Said Khelil, to create a political party, the MDC, but into vain the political field being again locked. He joined within the framework of a convergence the Rassemblement for the culture and the democracy of Saïd Saadi where he will occupy several positions of responsibility. He took part in several conferences seminars, animated conferences on the Amazigh identity like on the political situation through Algérie. He taught the economy at the university, and occupied several positions of responsibility on the level of the university of Bab Ezzouar USTHB and the Polytechnic school of Architecture and Town planning Epau d' El Harrach. He is known especially for his firm positions on the question of the Démocratie and the Human rights, and his standpoint against the Terrorisme and the Extrémisme in Algeria.
