Ali Ben Youssef

Ali Ben Youssef (1083 - 1142) (Arab: عليبنيوسف) is the son of Youssef Ibn Tachfin, pertaining to the dynasty Berbère of the Almoravide S. He will succeed his father in 1106 to reign there during 37 years, that is to say until its death in 1142.

It had in Africa all the empire of the Morocco, and in Europe almost all the Iberian peninsula. At the end of its reign, its power was shaken by the Almohades, which removed several provinces of Africa to him.

It is him which strengthened the town of Marrakech, rested by his/her father.
