Alfredo Catalani
Alfredo Catalani is a Italian Compositeur (June 19th 1854 with Lucques, August 7th 1893 with Milan).
Wire of a organist, he studied, then became professor with the Academy of Milan in 1886.
Its work, influenced by the Italian opera, also must with the opera Lyrique French (it also studied with Paris) and German Romantique operated it. Puccini eclipsed it, by being completely affirmed in the Vérisme that Catalani had outlined ( Wally occurs in the the Alps tyroliennes).
Two of its operas were success: Lorelei (1890) and Wally , created in Milan in 1892, whose one Aria is the central theme of the film Diva of Jean-Jacques Beineix.
Also author of a mass with four votes.
In 1893, he dies of tuberculosis.
