Alfredo Bryce Echenique

Alfredo Bryce Echenique is a Peruvian writer born with Lima the February 19th 1939.

Biography

Resulting from a family of bankers, he is educated within the old oligarchy of Lima. After having made its primary and secondary studies in English and North-American establishments of the capital, it is graduate in right and obtains the title of arts doctor to the National university of San Marcos.

In 1964 it settles in Europe and resides in France, in Italy, in Greece and Germany. It obtains a diploma in traditional French Literature (1965) and in contemporary French literature (1966) in the Sorbonne and, with the Université of Paris VIII (Vincennes), a control of comparative literature (1975). He teaches in Nanterre, Vincennes and Montpellier.

In 1977 he becomes doctor in Letters of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos of Lima.

Since 1984 it remains in Spain and in Peru.

With its return to the country in 1999, he is confronted with Peru of Alberto Fujimori. He sets out again for Spain (Barcelona) where he publishes its second book of memories Permiso para to feel , in 2005, a work which denounces in a sour way the transformation of Peru.
