Alfred Sturtevant
Alfred Henry Sturtevant (November 21st 1891 - April 5th 1970) was a American Généticien Drosophiliste, known in particular to have built the first genetic card of a Chromosome in 1913. Throughout its career, he worked in the team of Thomas Hunt Morgan on the Drosophila melanogaster (fruit fly). By observing that during the development of the flies the first cellular division produces two different genomes, it measured the embryogenic distance between the bodies in a unit which will be later baptized sturt in its honor.
