Alfred Francis Russell
Alfred Francis Russell , born the August 25th 1817 in the Kentucky, dead the April 4th 1884), was the tenth president of the Liberia.
Russell emigrated in Liberia in 1883 with his/her mother and her four brothers and sisters. It was in the beginning missionary methodist and had later a large and cane coffee plantation with sugar. He worked until 1881 as vice-president under Anthony William Gardiner and became president of Liberia after the resignation of this one for health reasons. Russell occupied this function of January 20th, 1883 until the new elections organized in 1884. Its successor was Hilary R.W. Johnson.
