Alfred Eluère

Alfred Eluère was born in 1893. It arrives in the rows of SCUF during the period of post-war period (1919) where the club is rebuilt after a fashion. Since 1917, it had represented military France at the time of matches of selection whose FR does not keep trace. Its aspect makes it evolve/move primarily at the station third line wing and it takes the capitanat of the team quickly first. Replacing during the Five Nations tournament of 1920, he will be Olympic vice-champion at the time of the Jeux of Antwerp on September 5th, 1920 vis-a-vis the the United States at the station of second line. That could have been its single selection of international, alas the FR will never officialize this meeting. Indeed, in the beginning Rugby was not envisaged with the program, but the USA had moved a team. In speed a team, primarily made up of Parisian players will be made up and will play a single match which will act as finale.

Laid off with SCUF of 1919 to 1923, it will become leading by integrating the Commission of SCUF Rugby in 1924. Later he will become member of the Council of the French federation of Rugby, authority which he will then chair of 1943 to 1952. He will be also president of the National committee of the sports of 1947 to 1966.

He exerted the trade of property developer as from 1922 since Hossegor, where he settled thereafter and became mayor of 1935 to 1972 about it. He was director of the company of electric household appliances Propia in the Bayonne, of the Parisian restaurant-club the Club of the Clubs .

He was member of the Parti radical socialist.
