Alfonso de Avalos

Alfonso de Avalos , marquis of the Guast, born with Ischia in 1502 and deceased the March 31st 1546, was a Spanish soldier.
Nephew of Fernando de Avalos, it succeeded to him in the command of the armies of Charles Quint.
He helped the Austria, in 1532, against Soliman the Magnificent the and followed the emperor in all his forwardings, in particular with Tunis. Named governor of the Milanese, it made raise, in 1543, the Siège of Nice to Barberousse and the count d' Enghien, which demolished it in its turn with Cérisoles (1544).
