Alfetta GTV

The Alfetta GTV is a car of the sporting type cut produced by the Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo between 1974 and 1987.

History

In 1967 Alfa Romeo decides to launch the studies this design of a new model cut which will have to replace, as of the middle of the Seventies, the Alfa Romeo Giulia WP. The schedule of conditions envisaged a body which can comfortably accommodate four passengers instead of traditional the 2+2, with a trunk of volume sufficient for the voyages. These constraints primarily aimed at countering the competition of the compact sporting trucks which offered similar services and a good comfort level. By taking again the mechanical diagram of the " Giulia GT" from 1968, Alfa Romeo entrusted the development of the new model to the any Italdesign new business of Giorgetto Giugiaro, by taking account of the fact that it was already G. Giugiaro which had largely taken part in the creation of the " Giulia GT" , whereas he worked in the famous Italian carriage-builder Bertone. As often at Alfa Romeo, Central Stile Esparto, was also charged to carry out a parallel project.
