Alexis Rosenbaum

Alexis Rosenbaum is a French essay writer. Born in 1969 in Paris, it was teaching in various universities.

Its first research, of a philosophical nature, is devoted to the importance of the hierarchical representations (ontological levels, scales of Vertu S, stages of human progress, classification of sciences…) in the history of the Western thought.

Its more recent work, of sociological orientation, seems intended to analyze the processes through which the subjects of the modern societies are involved to compare itself without delay, and tragic consequences of this new mode of " surcomparaison". the fear of inferiority analyzes the role of education thus (notes, classifications,…) and of consumption (envieux feelings, advertizing images,…) in the contemporary practices of comparison between individuals. Random access memories , from the rather close point of view, is devoted to the communities ethnic and cultural which build themselves and compare themselves mutually through the representation of the past which it maintain (last héroïsés, competition of the victims,…). Lastly, the anti-semitism tackles the question of the social jealousy in the exactions made towards the Jews during the Modern history.
