Alexi Laiho

Alexi “Wildchild” Laiho is born with Espoo in Finland the April 8th 1979, it is the principal guitarist and singer of the Finnish group Children off Bodom, he is also the principal guitarist of Sinergy. He also makes some appearances in certain songs of the Finnish groups Thy Serpent and Impaled Nazarene. The development of its style is strongly influenced by those of Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, and Roope Latvala. Several of its compositions are influenced by large type-setters of classical music, especially Mozart and Bach.

Biography

As of the 14 years age, it founds its first group, Inearthed with his large friend Jaska Raatikainen in 1993. At 16 years, it takes down school and concentrates fully with the guitar and the composition. Inearthed is mainly Death rather heavy metal and Alexi deals of the voice (it is inspired mainly by Philip Anselmo of Pantera and Thousand Petrozza of Kreator) and with the principal guitar, which already, confirms its great talent. But in 1996, the young group decides to evolve/move the style death metal by introducing a keyboard there. Janne Wirman, another friend of Alexi enters the formation thus. With Children off Bodom, Alexi composes from now on of the very melody music. He is the principal singer, guitarist, soloist and type-setter of all the songs of the Finnish group. In 1999 Alexi engaged in a competition with the talented Jani Liimatainen of the group Sonata Arctica, the 2 groups will be followed like Finnish rivals. In 2002, it is made steal its guitars Jackson , auquelles it was very attached. Alexi is regarded today as one of the future legends of the guitar. He is also the leader of the Sinergy group and a punk group which he founded, Kylähullut, but in which he is not invested much, Children off Bodom taking to him most clearly of its time.

In 1999, Kimberley Goss (ex- Dimmu Borgir) and Jesper Strömblad (In Flames, Dimension Zero) recruit it to form the group Sinergy. After the removal of Kimberley in Finland, the group dissolves but is reformed later and is made up Finnish members only. The substitute of Strombläd is Roope Latvala, which became in 2003 the second guitarist of Children off Bodom.

Alexi Laiho has the letters " HATE" of writing on the fingers of the right hand and " COBHC" tattooed on the fingers of the left hand (which means: Children Of Bodom Hastens Crew), which several impassioned of the group will reproduce.

It used before guitars of mark Jackson (model Randy Rhoads). In January 2003, ESP Guitars announced the exit of a line of models signatures Alexi Laiho. It since is endorsé by ESP, like Roope Latvala, second guitarist of Children off Bodom.

Alexi Laiho speaks Finnois, English and has some concepts in Swedish and French.
