Alexandre Voisard

Biography

After a tumultuous childhood and unfinished studies with the college of Porrentruy, it leads a bohemian life to Geneva where it makes the training of the scene. Of return in the the Jura, Alexandre Voisard publishes his first books there: Writes on a wall and Vert Paradise . After being employed in the offices of various companies, it establishes its own bookstore with Porrentruy while continuing its literary work.

Member of the Jurassic Gathering since 1947, Alexandre Voisard actively engages in the Jurassic Question and militates in favor of independence of the Jura. Its poem Liberté at Dawn is déclamé by crowd during the creation of the Canton of the Jura in 1978.

He is considered, with Jean Cuttat like the poet of the Jurassic revolution.

Promoted in 1979 first delegated to the cultural affairs of the new canton, it also takes a big part with the animation and the promotion of the letters and arts in Switzerland, in particular by its action within Pro Helvetia. Poet and writer recognized in all the francophonie, it continues to publish its poetic collections.

He is elected Député Socialiste with the Jurassic Parlement of 1979 to 1983.

One of its many accounts, the Year of the thirteen moons , is the subject of a film adaptation by Bertrand Theubet who draws from it film entitled the Cry from the Lizard , left to the screen in 1988.

In 1990, it is elected member of the Academy Mallarmé with Paris. In 1997, it is named with the European Academy of poetry.

A biographical film Alexandre Voisard, Poet - Plan-fixed is carried out in 2000 by Association Plan-fixed Films in Lausanne.

With his retirement, Alexandre Voisard withdraws itself in close France, country of his wife, where its inspiration remains very long-lived. He publishes inter alia the autobiographical work the Word music or the Childhood of a poet .
