Alexandre Varenne is a Politician French, born the October 3rd 1870 with Clermont-Ferrand and deceased the February 16th 1947 with Paris.
Biography
Doctor in right, it is Journaliste and lawyer with the Court of Appeal of Paris.He is elected appointed socialist of the Puy-de-Dôme in 1906 but is beaten in 1910. He finds his seat in 1914 and is constantly re-elected until 1936 as a Socialist SFIO then independent of left as of 1928 and French Socialist party as of 1932. Follower of the ideas of Jean Jaurès, it considers that the conflict is inevitable since the Belgium is invaded.
Of 1925 with 1927, he is general governor of the Indo-China. Its policy in favor of the natives (construction of schools, Vaccine ation, access to employment, factory inspectorate) however opposes the colonists who obtain his departure.
Founder of the newspaper “the Mountain” on October 4th 1919, Alexandre Varenne criticizes the totalitarian modes, of which that of Vichy. Because of the censure, it suspends the publication of the newspaper in 1943. The newspaper reappears after the Libération. Become again appointed, it sits at the radical group in the first constituent National Assembly then in that of UDSR in the second Parliament and with the National Assembly. It reconstitutes the Parti republican-Socialist which it makes adhere to the Rassemblement Republican lefts.
