Alexandre Miniac

Alexandre Miniac (1885-1963) is a French architect.

Born on July 5th, 1885 with Saint-Servan, Ille and Vilaine, this wire of a fabric trader servannais, Paul Miniac (1851-1936), is in addition brother of prosecuting attorney Edmond Miniac and great nephew of Louis Duchesne. He learns architecture with the 3Ecole Nationale Sup3erieure from architecture of Brittany, located then at the Palate Commercial, in Rennes. Registered with the first promotion of 1905, then counting two pupils, after a contest in December, it has as Masters Emmanuel Ray (1859-1936) and the only graduate architect exerting then in Low-Brittany, Georges-Robert Lefort (1875-1954), an architect " with the exceptional prize list, to which it missed only a Prix of Rome " (2), author of the station of Dinan and the Hotel of the beach of Perros-Guirec. " Two pupils, MM Joseph Brilhaut (1882-1968) and Alexandre Miniac, have just been acceptable following the judgment of the first test of architecture, among ten candidats". The following year, it was allowed with the second class in 1906…

Architect

Just like his/her friend inhabitant of Saint Malo Yves Hémar, architect balneal of the Emerald Coast, the talent of declining Miniac style art déco and regionalism opens out after the First World War in which it takes part in the 129e regiment of infantry (Legion of honor, Military Cross 1914-1918). Architect DPLG, one owes him of the private buildings (many hotels and villas on the Basque coast and in particular at Midsummer's Day de Luz…) and public (the such town hall of the " Martyre" city; of Albert in the Sum, inaugurated by Gaston Doumergue).

Town planner elected by the secretariat of state to the rebuilding in 1948, with Small, the town of Douai is indebted for him of his plan of installation and rebuilding after the damage of the second world war. Its plan is preserved at the municipal files of Douai, exposed to the Musée of Chartreuse in 1999.

Painter

Painter painter in watercolours, it exposes to the Salon of the French artists of the landscapes of the Close-Chicken (Bazouges-the-Perugia, Saint-Malo, Saint-Servan…) and, draftsman, illustrates books (such those of the ethnologist Paul Sébillot, such " Picturesque Brittany and légendaire" , Daragon editor, 1911…

Married in 1923 with Yvonne Wislin, girl of a Montmartrean painter Charles Wislin (1852-…) attached to Brittany, he dies on December 3rd, 1963, without descent. His wife makes gift of works (Eugene Boudin, primitive Flemish) with various museums in area, museum of the Art schools of Rennes, Musée of Unterlinden of Colmar.

Attached to Bazouges-the-Perugia, country of origin of Marie Desmonts, her mother, and where it returned regularly to paint in its house of the borough, it rests there from now on, in the shade of the church.

In 1996, one of its works is used as support of communication (posts " four by trois") for the first edition of " Bazouges, village of artistes" , artistic company of decentralization now developed by the Drac Brittany and the plastics technician Spitz Picasso of the group Bazooka.

The Cartopole de Baud, Morbihan, regional academy of the postcard, reference thus some of its watercolours.
