Alexandre Marc

Alexandre Marc , born Aleksander Markovitch Lipiansky with Odessa in 1904, dead the February 22nd 2000 with Vence (France) was a writer and a philosopher.

Alexandre Marc was born in 1904 with Odessa in a family from Jewish confession. Driven out of Russia by the revolution, it finishes its secondary studies in Paris, before undertaking higher learning of Philosophie in Iéna. Returned to France, it acquires a legal formation and is graduate Private school of political sciences in 1927. On the recommendation of Jules Isaac, it enters to the Editions Hatchet while melting an news agency, Pax-Press.

In 1929, it creates a center of meetings to religious and oecumenical vocation, the Club of the Green Mill , which, while tackling the social questions and policies, will give birth, in 1930, with the movement the new Ordre, of which it was going to be one of the principal organizers until the disappearance of this one in 1938. It is in particular with its initiative that will be associated with the group Arnaud Dandieu, with which it will contribute to define, between 1930 and 1933, the fundamental theoretical orientations which will do of them one of the expressions of the “Personnalisme” of the “Non-conformistes of the Thirties”. From now on, Alexandre Marc was going to be made the untiring spokesperson of these ideas. Thus it will be brought to take part, in 1932, with the foundation of the review Esprit in which it publishes several articles exposing the theses of the new Order.

Converted with the Catholicism after the death of Dandieu, in October 1933, he writes in the Dominican review the intellectual life then becomes, in 1935, the sub-editor of the catholic weekly magazine Seven , of which he writes in particular the press review under the pseudonym of Scrutator , as he collaborates regularly, a little later, of 1937 with the war, the weekly magazine which succeeds to him, Temps present . In the same way, it belongs to the team which makes reappear this publication, of August 1940 in August 1941, under the title New Temps , while it in addition takes part in the clandestine creation of the Cahiers of Christian Testimony .

In the Release, after being interned in Switzerland like political refugee of 1943 to 1944, he collaborates during a few months in Christian Témoignage , then devotes entirely to his engagement with the service of the European Fédéralisme. He takes part in the creation of the group “the Federation”, and becomes, in 1946, general secretary of the European Union of the federalists, then, in 1953, the organizer of the European federalistic Mouvement and the adviser of the review Europe in formation . Creator of the international Center of European formation (CIFE) in 1954. It in particular took part in the organization of the Congrès of $the Hague.

Beside its engagement militant, he is the author of many works and articles giving his design of the integral Fédéralisme, of which he will endeavor until his retirement to ensure the diffusion through an intense activity of teaching within various institutions, of which he is more or less directly the organizer, like the international Center of European formation, the European Institut of the high international studies of Nice or the College of Federalistic Studies of Aoste.
