Alexandre Lagoya
Alexandre Lagoya is a Guitariste French born with Alexandria (Egypt) the June 29th 1929, and died with Paris the August 24th 1999.
Alexandre Lagoya, born parents Greek and Italian, became famous with the the Middle East as of his more young age. He went to France to perfect his musical knowledge, and it is in Paris which he met the large guitarist Ida Presti that he married and with which it formed the duet Presti-Lagoya which was going to become the most important duet of guitars of the 20th century, of 1950 until the tragic death of Ida Presti in 1967.
Its career was then stopped - he spoke about the disappearance of Ida Presti like amputation. He started again only five years later an intense career in solo with many concerts and recordings.
He was also the founder of the class of guitar to the Conservatoire higher national of music of Paris where he taught between 1969 and 1994 and, for this reason trained many guitarists and famous musicians.
