Alexander Henry Rhind
Alexander Henry Rhind (1833 - 1863) was born with Wick in Scotland.
During two stays which it made in Egypt for health reasons in 1855 and 1857, it undertakes excavations with Thèbes and constitutes a collection of Egyptian antiquities and papyri. A papyrus interests it particularly and it buys it in 1858. This papyrus, written by the scribe Ahmès is from now on known under its name.
