Alexander Godfrey
Alexander Godfrey was born with Chatham on the peninsula from the Cape Cod in Massachusetts in 1756. In 1791, it marries Phoebe West. Their only daughter, Ruth, die at the 7 years age 1 month and 26 days the December 7th 1798. Godfrey died of the Yellow fever the January 17th 1803 in Jamaica.
Godfrey was a Corsaire, captain of the Rover . It becomes famous when it captures the Santa Rita , Spanish flagship and its two ships gunners. The 55 men of crew of the Rover made captive the 125 men of these three ships without undergoing losses. This bright victory made of Godfrey a hero in England, which even offered to him rewards for it its own ship in the Royal Navy.
