Alexander Frei

Alexander Frei is a player of Football Suisse born the July 15th 1979 with Basle. It evolves/moves at the station of attacker to the Borussia Dortmund and belonged to the pillars of the Swiss selection.

At the time of its passage to the Stage of Rennes, it finishes better striker of the Championship of France with 20 achievements. With Olivier Monterrubio, it forms what one calls “a duet of shock” in the Breton club. Friends on the ground as in the life, the two players are indeed very complementary. Dated May 25th, 2007, it was selected 46 times in national team and registered 32 goals, of which the last vis-a-vis in Colombia on March 25th, 2007 at the stage of the Orange Bowl with Miami on penalty. It is only with three goals of the best striker of the history of the l´équipe of Switzerland, Kubilay Türkyılmaz (34 goals).

In 2007 he becomes captain of the team of Switzerland following the departure of Johann Vogel.

Anecdote

It was suspended to have spit on the leader of English play Steven Gerrard during the match Suisse - England of the Euro 2004 with the Portugal.

A Swiss racing driver also names Alexander Frei. He runs in series LMS for Courage Competition.

The readers of Bild elected Alexander Frei " player of the season 2006/07" with more of more than 30%, preceding Zidan and Diego amongst other things although this last finally received the title of " better player of the année" in Bundesliga.
