Alexander Butterfield
Alexander Butterfield (born in 1926), was an assistant of the American presidency under Richard Nixon between 1969 to 1973. He was the assistant of Bob Haldeman, general secretary of the White House. July 13rd, 1973, during the Scandal of Watergate, he is the author of a dramatic turn of events while revealing, owe the senatorial board of inquiry, the existence, at the White House, of a sophisticated system of listening. This revelation, which makes it possible to plan to confirm preceding accusing testimonys, is at the origin of a long arm wrestling between Nixon and the investigators, for the restitution of the bands, until the resignation of the president in August 1974. Butterfield is not compromised in the illegal acts put at the day by the investigation. He is administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration of 1973 to 1975.
