The Aletschhorn is a top of the the Bernese Alps with 4.193 Mètre S of Altitude, it is close to the border between the canton of the Valais and Bern in Suisse but is entirely in Valaisan territory. It dominates the Glacier of Aletsch in the west and its slope gives rise to the Mittelaletschgletscher which low joined the principal glacier with approximately 2300 meters of altitude. It is famous to be the coldest top of the Alps. The first rise was carried out the June 18th 1859 by Johann Joseph Bennen, Peter Bohren, V. Tairraz and Francis Fox Tuckett
