Alesso Baldovinetti

Alesso Baldovinetti or Alessio (October 14th 1427 - August 29th 1499) was a Italian painter of the Renaissance.

Biography

Baldovinetti was born with Florence.

He was the pupil of Domenico Veneziano with Piero della Francesca and the Master of Domenico Ghirlandaio.

He is located, by his taste for the landscape, in the line of the group of the realistic painters and naturalists like Andrea del Castagno, Paolo Uccello and Domenico Veneziano; on this subject Vasari known as of him: : “ It liked much to make landscapes and copied on the spot them, exactly as they are. At the Year, it represented in the ruins of a house, the stones mildewed, corroded by the rain and freezing, and a large root of ivy which recovers part of the wall. It even took care to make the top of the sheets of a certain green and the lower part of a different green, as they are indeed in nature.

It also has work like mosaïste when Laurent de Médicis, to make reappear an art considered with Florence as properly Tuscan, decides to restore and to supplement the baptistry as from 1453.
