Alessi

Alessi is the name of sign of the company Fratelli Alessi Omegna (FAO), founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi.

It is presented in the trade fairs of the Années 1920 like a workshop of Fonderie specialized in the work of the Cuivre, the Nickel and the Maillechort, being characterized by its innovative experiments. The company concentrates since 1929 on the production of objects of table for the house, out of nickelled or silver plated copper. Carlo Alessi, the son of Giovanni, is named in 1935 director of creation, and in the years which follow, the artisanal manufacturing methods make place with the industrial production. In 1945, Carlo Alessi creates the service with coffee and the Bombé and is joined by his/her young Ettore brother. In 1955, Alessi starts to collaborate with architects and designers.

The company is now directed by Alberto Allessi which continues to work with the most famous designers and architects. Since 2006, Alessi markets three lines of products: has di Alessi (produced most accessible), Alessi (principal collection) and Officina Alessi (produced experimental and in small series).

The Alessi products

Alessi manufactures especially articles of arts of the table and kitchen. Dpuis a few years, Alessi also markets table linen, watches and jewels.

Alessi also republishes objects created at the beginning of the 20th century by Christopher Dresser, Josef Hoffmann, Otto Rittweger or Marianne Brandt.
