Alessandro Piccinini (December 30th 1566 - 1638) was a Luth ist and Italian Compositeur.

Born with Bologna, Piccinini learns the lute with his/her father, Leonardo Maria Piccinini. It is employed at the court of Este with Ferrara and by the cardinal Pietro Aldobrandini. Piccinini is known especially for its two collections of parts for lute: Intavolatura di Liuto and di Chitarrone, libro firstly (Bologna, 1632) and Intavolaturo di Liuto (Bologna, 1639), the second published after his death by his/her son Leonardo Maria Piccinini.
