Aleksandr Igorevitch Grichtchouk (in), born the October 31st 1983 with Moscow, is a Russian player of failures.
Champion of Russia of the young people in all the categories of age, it however managed never to become world champion junior.
He obtained his first international successes in 2000 at the time of the Young Masters of Lausanne , then with the tournament of Tórshavn (Faroe Islands). This same year, it gained with the Russian team the Olympiade of failures in Istanbul and obtains the bronze medal as a 3rd better second reserve of the tournament (teams of the Olympiad consisting of 4 titular players and 2 players reservists). He was still member of the victorious Russian team to the Olympiade of failures of 2002 and took part in the relative failures of 2004 and 2006 (where Russia was classified 2nd behind the Ukraine then 6th).
He qualifies himself for the Championship of the World 2007 by eliminating successively Vladimir Malakhov and Serguei Rublevsky.
He has a style of dynamic and aggressive play, also returning it very extremely in the fast parts.
In July 2007, its Classification Elo with: 2726 points places it at the 14th world rank (its best classification being one 6th world place in July 2003 with a elo with 2732).
