Aleksander Klumberg-Kolmpere , born the April 17th 1899 with Tallinn and deceased the February 10th 1958 with Tallinn, was a Décathlon IEN Estonia N.

The first official world records of the decathlon were carried out September 16th and 17th 1922 in Helsinki by Klumberg-Kolmpere. Its total of: 7485,61 points resulted from the following performances: 12" 3 - 6.59 m - 12.92 m - 1.75 m - 55" 0 - 17" 0 - 39.64 m - 3.40 m - 62.20 m - 5 ' 11" 3. Its best discipline was the Throwing the javelin.

Aleksander Klumberg-Kolmpere took part in the Olympic Games of summer of 1920 and 1924, obtaining a bronze medal with the decathlon in 1924 with a total of 7329.360 points (11" 6 - 6.96 m - 12.27 m - 1.75 m - 54" 4 - 17" 6 - 36.79 m - 3.30 m - 57.70 m - 5 ' 16" 0). At the time of this decathlon, the winner of the contest, the American Harold Osborn also dispossessed it of the world records.

Klumberg-Kolmpere was the best world athlete on decathlon in 1920 and 1922 and with the javelin in 1922 and 1923. Its best performance with the decathlon was its world records, with the javelin, it launched to 63.32 m in 1921 and 63.60 m in 1935.

After having stopped the competition, it involved the Olympic team of Poland in 1928 and 1932. At the time of the Olympic Games of summer of 1932, it involved Janusz Kusociński which gained gold over 10.000 Mr.

After the occupation of Estonia by the Soviet Union, it was off-set in Siberia. It returned to Estonia very reached in its health in 1955 after ten years of forced labors. It is deceased in 1958.

The history of the decathlon thereafter will be still written by the vice Olympic champion Rein Aun in the Années 1960 and by the Olympic champion of 2000 Erki Nool.
