Alec Guinness

Sir Alec Guinness , of its complete name Alec Guinness de Cuffe , was a British actor , born the April 2nd 1914 with London, dead the August 5th 2000 with Midhurst, in the Sussex, of a cancer of the liver.
Biography
While working in the advertizing sector , it off followed studies of dramatic art to the Fay Compton Studio Dramatic Art and begins its career from actor in 1936 in the London theater Old Vic.In 1941, it engaged in the Royal Navy.
In 1946, it turns in the Great Hopes , of David Lean. He will play then in Oliver Twist and Of the cut to the lips one year later.
He is an emblematic figure of the Ealing Studios, in particular by his services in the comedies Noblesse obliges ( Kind Hearts and Coronets ), in 1949 (where he interprets eight different roles of which that of a woman) and Tueurs of ladies ( The Ladykillers ), in 1955 (where he divides the high-speed motorboat with Peter Sellers).
He is also familiar of films of David Lean since one amongst other things finds it in Oliver Twist (1948), Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Doctor Jivago (1965) and especially the Bridge of the river kwaï (1957) where its interpretation of colonel Nicholson brings a Oscar to him and a Golden Globe.
He also holds the role of Hitler in 1973 in the last ten days of Hitler ( Hitler: The Last Ten Days ).
Another generation of spectators also knows it for his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars , a role which he hated openly and of which he qualified the counterparts of banal: irony of fate in this traditional course where the actor finds the celebrity near the public fan of these films.
After sixty years of career, the Chevalier Jedi ensured the changing with his/her Matthew son, seen in promised or Lady Jane , and which always turns, even if, these last years, one it more saw only in simple tele productions like Eskimo Day , carried out in 1996.
