The Aleatico is a red Cépage Italy N of the family of the Moscato, giving sweet wines and very aromatized, of marked color. Employee also in California, Australia, and with the Chile. Nowadays, this variety is also used in Corsica, or even in ex Union-Soviet.

It is classified auxiliary type of vine in DOC. Aleatico di Gradoli, Aleatico di Puglia, Gioia del Colle, Lago di Corbara, Rosso Orvietano and Salice Salentino.

It is classified recommended in many provinces of the areas Piedmont, Toscane, Marches, Latium, Pouilles and Basilicate. In 1998, it covered 537 ha.

It gives soft red wines delicately, little coloured and musky.

Locally, the grapes are consumed fresh as table grapes because the grape are agreeably musky.
