Ally is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Loire and the area Auvergne.

Geography

Ale is a rural district which counts 13 hamlets in addition to the principal borough. The commune is located any meadows of the limit between the departments of the Cantal and the Haute-Loire. Moreover, it is to approximately 30 km of Saint-Flour and to 24 km of Langeac, the two closest cities: Ale thus is relatively insulated.

If the common one counts today a little more than 200 inhabitants, she knew a very strong reduction in her population these last years since 50 years ago, the population was quasi double.

Economy

The commune has a school, some trade (grocer, bakery, restaurant and country inn). The principal activity is agriculture but the number of credits is in fall. For the local store, it is difficult to remain: it resists only thanks to tourism.

In the years 1980, the municipal council began a reflection on the development of the inheritance of the commune. Thus, thanks to an association, old mining sites where one exploited the Antimoine one reopened in 1996. One can visit them today.

The windmills and with water of the commune were also restored. Thus, one of the mills could start again to grind, second became a museum, others of the lodgings in which one can remain, and finally one of them was arranged to offer a panoramic vision on the surroundings.

October 27th 2005 was inaugurated a field of 26 wind S producing close to 39MW. It acts, at this date, of the largest field of wind S of France.

Places and monuments

The small commune of Ale has a considerable number of curiosities which are worth the turning and which make of this village a picturesque place.

One can in particular visit the church of which a part dates from the 12th century.

Identity element of the commune, its Moulin S with wind rehabilitated can be visited. There also exists of many pedestrian possibilities of Randonnée S. With feet or in Bicycle, the visitors will benefit from the multitude from richnesses which account the commune.
