Alduin of Lombardy

Alduin is a King lombard 6th century; it becomes federate Byzantine Empire (v. 541), obtaining a Fœdus on behalf of the emperor Justinien which grants the Pannonia to him and the Norique as well as subsidies. Starting from 551, it must send troops in Italy to the service of Narsès against the Ostrogoths and in 552 it are not less than 5.000 warriors lombards who take part in the ostrogothic defeat on the sides of the Vesuvius. Died towards 563, he is the father of the king Alboïn. ----
