Aldo Romano is an Italian beater born with Belluno in 1941 very young and emigrated in France with his/her parents.

It was put at the battery in 1961 after having studied the Guitare, and played, in various styles, with many musicians, among whom figure the American pianist Keith Jarrett. It was a friend of Claude Nougaro to which it dedicated an album Threesome in April 2004.

It always preserved close links with the Italian jazz, collaborating as of the Sixties with Enrico Rava in particular, or more recently during the time 1987-1993 when it joins together an entirely Italian formation with Paolo Fresu, Franco D' Andrea and Furio Di Castri with which it records the discs Ritual , To Be Ornette to Be , Dreams and Waters and Non Dimenticar .

It is especially known today thanks to the trio which it formed in 1995 with Louis Sclavis and Henri Texier.

After a voyage in Africa in company of the photographer Guy Querrec, they publish a first album: Log books . Following an other voyage, a few years later, they publish African Suites .

A third album, African Flashback , left at the end of 2005, supplements this series.

Aldo Romano is not satisfied to play of the battery, he also sings, and has just left an album (January 2006) which is called, precisely: Aldo Romano sings .
