Albus Dumbledore

Albus Dumbledore is a character of the saga Harry Potter, written by the writer J.K. Rowling.

Of its whole name Albus Perceval Wulfric Brian Dumbledore (1881 - 1997), he is the principal of sorcery Poudlard since the neighborhoods of 1970. Previously, he was professor of metamorphosis.

Its mischievous and eccentric character, almost childish, should not make forget that he is regarded as largest Sorcier of all times, in particular for his great wisdom, but also to be the only wizard to make fear with Lord Voldemort. The name Albus comes from the Latin word: albus (“white”). What it achieved

Albus Dumbledore went celebrates by beating the black magus Grindelwald in 1945. Biography

Albus Dumbledore entered in Poudlard in 1892, in the house Gryffondor, where it finishes its studies in 1899 brilliantly. He becomes thereafter professor de Métamorphose with Poudlard. Later, it accepts the request for maintenance of Lord Voldemort, applicant at a post of professor of Defense against the Forces of the Evil. Dumbledore the déboute, thinking that the wizard had other reasons to return in Poudlard.

During the rise of Voldemort in the years 1970 and the era of terror which accompanied this phenomenon, Poudlard became the only sure place, and Dumbledore incarnates resistance against the powerful black magus: it founds for this purpose the Ordre of the Phoenix to counter carried out Mangemorts.

After the eradication of the Basil and horcruxe of Voldemort by Harry Potter with the school end of the year, Albus Dumbledore is finally reinstated triumphantly in its functions and Lucius Malefoy driven out of the board of directors.

During the third volume, Dumbledore " observe " by far; (according to its own terms) Harry to save Sirius Black, which it will help to escape, convinced of its innocence.

Volume 4 sees the organization of the Tournoi of the Three Wizards who take place every 5 years, during which Dumbledore, having a presentiment of serious threats on Harry, the fact of supervising by his/her old friend Alastor Maugrey.
In 1995, i.e. at the end of the fourth volume, Voldemort makes its return and Dumbledore redesigns the Order of the Phoenix. It starts a long fight (which will last during all the fifth volume) in order to convince the Ministry for the veracity of the return of Voldemort.

During the fifth school year of Harry, this last, helped by other students, founds an illegal club of Defense against the Forces of the Evil: AD. When Dolores Ombrage discovers the existence of this regrouping, Dumbledore urges all its responsibility in order to protect Harry and flees by embanking the Aurors, Ombrage and the Minister for the Magic itself, Cornelius Fudge. It becomes again directing as soon as the return of Voldemort is proven, at the end of a duel crashing to pieces between the black magus and itself within the Ministry for the Magic, in London. It comes out victorious from this combat. Lord Voldemort drew the bell from the retirement. He flees but is charmed to note that Albus Dumbledore ages and that its magic performances are made some feel. After one school year when it is still illustrated by an exceptional intelligence and an undeniable magic power, Dumbledore dies in dramatic circumstances at the end of the volume six, in June 1997. This night, of Mangemorts penetrate in the school while the director returns seriously wounded from the cave where Lord Voldemort dissimulated the Medallion of Serpentard, a Horcruxe, accompanied by Harry Potter. The principal is assassinated by Severus Rogue, one of the professors whose fidelity was more doubtful but in which it old man had a total confidence. Revelations of the seventh volume

Volume 7 learns to us enormously on the past and especially childhood from Dumbledore. Rita Skeeter publishes a sulfurous book on Dumbledore by in particular using the testimony of the famous of the name of Bathilda Tourdesac, friend of Lily and James Potter, and contemporary historian of Dumbledore, and reveals its obscure past.

It is this terrible scene which Dumbledore revived when he drank the potion which protected the medallion Horcruxe (" it is with me that evil should be made… "), in the cave (volume 6). Abelforth held his/her brother for person in charge of died of Ariana and struck it with the burial (from where the broken nose of Albus).

This dark event moved away Albus de Grindelwald, this last fleeing without leaving news after the death of Ariana. The two men were re-examined only once, when Albus faced it later in duel, in 1945, and was victorious. The death of his/her sister, of which it felt responsible, continued Albus all her life. Grindelwald was imprisoned with the prison of Nurmengard (which it had built itself to lock up there its opponents).

Dumbledore had then known one of the darkest periods of its life. It gave up, following the death of his sister, her research projects on the relics of death, and refused the post of minister of the Magic which was proposed to him with many recoveries. Dumbledore was persuaded that the capacity would have a harmful effect on him and el did not want to become again the person that it was during these two months of friendship with Grindelwald.
The remainder of its life was devoted to its combat against the black magi and all that they represented (intolerance, racism, crimes against the moldus…).

It is also learned, at the any end of volume 7, that Severus Rogue had killed Dumbledore only because this last had ordered to him. When it had put at its finger the ring of Gaunt, which contained at the same time Pierre of Résurrection (one of the relics of dead) and a horcruxe of Voldemort, plugged by its fol hope to re-examine this would be only the image of its dear Ariana and its parents, it had forgotten that a very powerful magic spell protected the horcruxe. It had the safe life only in Severus Rogue, which intervened in time to block the magic spell in the hand carrying the ring. Rogue prevented it that it could only temporarily contain the evil, and that from here at one year, Dumbledore was condamné.
It to what Dumbledore reacts very calmly while requiring of Rogue to once put a term at its sufferings at the proper time. It was very difficult to convince Severus Rogue (" You tend a little too to think that certain things go from oneself! ") but finally this last agreed to play the bad part when Dumbledore affirmed, knowing that Voldemort had given for order to Drago Malefoy to assassinate it, that it " preferred to leave the scene without mutilation and suffering, and as soon as possible… Regard that as a service rendered to an old man ". Rogue held its promise by killing Dumbledore of Avada Kedavra, at the top of the tower full with Mangemorts. It is also Dumbledore which required of Rogue to become director of Poudlard after his death, in order to protect the school from the exactions of Mangemorts, and in the aim of protection Harry Potter and to transmit to him the sword of Gryffondor, necessary to the destruction of the horcruxes. Dumbledore also hoped that Severus Rogue inherits the rod of elder tree, but that did not occur as envisaged.

Harry will pay homage to its mentor and guard by giving his first name to its second wire whom it names Albus Severus, in remembering him.

According to the author

July 30th, 2007, at the time of a cat with fans on the site of Bloomsbury, JK Rowling explained certain things about Dumbledore. It is learned that:

It made so that Ron inherits the extinguisher because it knew that it needed more to be guided than the others. The homosexuality of Dumbledore

With the cinema

In Harry Potter with the school of the wizards (2001) and Harry Potter and the room of the secrecies (2002). Dumbeldore was interpreted by Richard Harris, which died in 2002.
