Affiliated since its creation in 2003 with the formation of MLB of the Florida Marlins, the Isotopes play on level Triple-HAVe in Pacific Coast League. They evolve/move since 2003 with the Isotopes Park (12 215 places).

History

After the removal of the Albuquerque Dukes with Portland cement in 2000, Albuquerque remains without representative in PCL until in 2003 and the creation of the Isotopes following the transfer of the Canadian frankness from the Calgary Cannons.

The choice of the name of the frankness is directly inspired by the series The Simpsons where the local team bears the name of Springfield Isotopes. In the episode Hungry, Hungry Homer diffused in March 2001, Springfield Isotopes are coveted by Alburquerque, still under the shock of the loss of Dukes. This choice was confirmed by a vote with 67% of 120.000 people with Albuquerque.
