Albert of the Schleswig-Holstein

Albert of the Schleswig-Holstein, (in German Albrecht von the Schleswig-Holstein), born the February 26th 1869 with Frogmore House (Windsor), deceased the April 27th 1931 with Berlin.

He was duke of the Schleswig-Holstein, chief of the House of Oldenbourg, duke of Augustenbourg of 1921 with 1931.

Biography

Albert of the Schleswig-Holstein was intended for a military career. His/her younger brother, Christian Victor de Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderbourg-Augustenbourg (1867 - 1917) was useful in the British army, as for Albert of the Schleswig-Holstein, it was useful in the Prussian army. It atteingnit the rank of lieutenant colonel with the 3rd regiment of Uhlans. During the First World War, Guillaume II of Germany exempted it combatant service against the British. During this war, it made party of the personnel of the governor of Berlin.

Genealogy

Albert of the Schleswig-Holstein belongs to the first branch of the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderbourg resulting from the first branch of the Maison of Oldenbourg. This line died out with its death in 1931.
