Albert V of Bavaria
Albert V of Bavaria known as Albert Splendid the (born the February 29th 1528 in Munich; † October 24th 1579 in Munich) was duke of Bavaria of 1550 to 1579.
Albert succeeded the businesses in 1550 with his father, the duke Guillaume Constant the, 4 years after his marriage with the girl of the king Ferdinand, Anne of Austria (1528-1590). He encouraged arts and increased the collections of art in Munich. He made come to his most famous court from the musicians from the time, Roland de Lassus, but also of the painters and engravers. Its taste of the luxury made him contract enormous debts assembling itself to ½ million guilders.
In the ecclesiastical questions, it was influenced by the Jésuites and, as his father, gave an opinion against Luther. He was the tutor and dealt with the education of Philippe II, margrave de Baden-Baden, as well as his sister Jakobe Von Baden.
