Biography
Member of the Socialist party, former leader of the party Alliance of opposition to the local UMP of Victor Brial and which since was melted in the very new local antenna of the PS, territorial adviser elected official in the district of Hihifo on Wallis, he was president of the territorial Assemblée of Wallis-and-Futuna from February 22nd to November 24th 2005, profiting then from a short alliance between the local left and the various centrists right-hand side, had already been socialist candidate in 2002 but had then obtained only 928 votes, that is to say hardly more than 13% of the votes, with the 1st turn, thus arriving in 3rd position behind the 40,5% of Victor Brial and 37,7% of the various candidate left Penisio Tialetagi. In 2007, he was the only local left-wing candidate, elected official appointed at the time of the second turn, the June 17th 2007 with 4.152 votes (51,79%) - what constitutes a surprise for all the observers: the all 1st time of a socialist deputy with Wallis-and-Futuna and whereas two of the three candidates various right-hand side of the 1st turn had invited to vote for Victor Brial.
It was the first graduate of Wallis. It côtoyé Jean-Marie Tjibaou on the benches of the seminar in New Caledonia.
In 2005, it had supported the great cheffery of Wallis, at the time of the crisis which had opposed the State (and in particular then the higher administrator) to king de Wallis, the lavelua , since deceased. The vote in its favor is regarded by certain observers as an assertion of the Wallisian identity vis-a-vis the metropolis.
