Albert Flamen

Albert Flamen (1620 - 1674) is a engraver of Flemish origin .

Albert Flamen exerts especially his art with Paris starting from the Années 1640. He publishes in 1648 the Devises and emblesmes of love moralisez , work emblematic which will be republished on several occasions (1650, 1653,1666,1672) and he acknowledges not to be the author of the two texts which accompany each elegant engraving that he worked.

Engraver of emblematic boards for the Life symbolic system of happy François the Dirty ones, Evesque and Prince de Geneve of Adrien Gambart (Paris, 1664) and the Orpheus Eucharisticus, sive Deus absconditus humanitatis illecebris illustriores of Augustin Chesneau (Paris, 1657), it is especially known for many volumes of boards illustrating the Poisson S of sea and fresh water and the Oiseau X of France. He also engraved several series of boards excessively pious women as well as of the plans of Paris and engravings of occasion.
