Albert Balestre

Albert Balestre , born on January 24th 1850 with Nice and dead on March 10th 1922 in this same city, is a professor of French medicine and notable and scholar niçois of the end of the XIXe century.

It makes its secondary studies with the Lycée of Nice then attends the Medical college of Montpellier where it obtains its diploma for the occupation of aggregate doctor. He supports the candidature of Alziary de Malaussène, and becomes its first assistant, city council man and general adviser of the canton is of the Alps-maritimes.Cependant, he gradually gives up his electoral mandates of the municipal council and the departmental assembly to devote itself entirely to medicine and hygiene.

In 1933, a decision of the Municipal council allots, the name of this highly skilled doctor, with a street of the center town.
