Albert is a common French, located in the department of the Somme and the area Picardy. The inhabitants of Albert are called the Albertins .
Geography
Albert is located at the North-East of the department, with the intersection of the river Ancre and old the Roman Voie connecting Amiens (to 30 km) to Bapaume (to approximately 20 km). Albert FOR THE THIRD TIME lays out of a station on the Ligne Paris - Lille.

Demography
History
The city, named Albert , carried formerly and until the 17th century the name of Encre , which was changed into that of Albert after the fall of the marshal of Anchor and the transmission of the seigniory at the house of Albert and more particularly, to (Charles of) Albert de Luynes. This house, resulting from the Alberti of Florence, had been established in the Comtat Venaissin at the beginning of the 15th century. Its principal branches are those of the lords of Luynes and Chaulnes.The seigniory of Ink, having initially belonged to the Counts de Ponthieu, passed to the Counts of Saint-pol. before returning to the House of Humières-Bursting.
- June 1576: The seigniory was set up in marquisat.
- 1610: Concini acquired the ground of Ink, becoming marquis d' Encre. He signed marquis of has ncre and took the title of " Marshal of Anchor " , after its rise with the distinction in Marshal of France. He was assassinated with blows of gun in 1617 in the court of Louvre.
- 1620: After the death of Concini, the marquisat, confiscated, was given by Louis XIII to Charles of Albert, duke of Luynes and Connétable of France, which obtained from the King of the letters patent to change the name of the city.
- At the end of the 17th century, the owner was Louis de Bourbon, count de Toulouse and duke of Penthièvre. The weapons of the old seigniory were " burellées of money and mouths of ten parts ".
- 1793 : The 16 brumaire year V, to Paris, fell into a basket the head from that which was the Duke of Chartres, the Duke of Orleans, the citizen Philippe-Equality, and the last lord from Albert.
- 1914-1918: Albert was the stake of terrible combat at the time of the Bataille of the Sum during the First World War.
